A Prayer for Today

This Prayer for today was born out of a greater awareness and conviction to pray about what is going on in the world around us and the full knowledge that Believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour are called to be salt and light - Matthew 5: 13-16 to those around us.
Part of this role is to pray about all things - not forgetting to thank God too for all He is and does, for answering our prayers - Philippians 4:6-7. God promises peace when we do this.
In this edition - we use the scripture, 2 Chronicles 7: 14 -'If my people, who are called by may name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.'
This message and prayer is for the church first but also for leaders of the nations and the people. As background we include the audio from a Youtube channel from Chris Whickland  https://www.youtube.com/@ChrisWickland who gives his perceptions and concerns on the world today.

“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. You will enlarge the nation of Israel, and its people will rejoice. They will rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest and like warriors dividing the plunder. For you will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders. You will break the oppressor’s rod, just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian. The boots of the warrior and the uniforms bloodstained by war will all be burned. They will be fuel for the fire. For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. Later, we hear from Val Waldeck as she expounds on the book of Revelation highlighting signs we can draw from this important book of prophesy.
Toward the end of the program,  we offer an opportunity to respond in prayer to what you've heard in the program.
