A Gospel of Hope - New Life
Thursday Apr 23, 2020
Thursday Apr 23, 2020
Today’s program is inspired in part by our hope of seeing new life in the form of blue tits who have been creating a nest in our bird box and we are able to see and share this.
In the Bible, New life is represented by Jesus Christ who rose from the dead.
Romans 6:4 [Full Chapter]
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

A Gospel Of Hope - Can Anything Save me

Gospel of Hope- Can Anything save me
Luke 12
Do Not Worry
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[b]? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
A Gospel of Hope is is an expiration of the hope we have in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour. We do this through scripture, prayer, music, devotion, drama. We now get into our subject. Can anything Save me?
Can any thing that is on the earth save me? Can any food, clothing, technology, medical advance, idea, ideal, political stance, any other religion give me a guarantee of Salvation after I die? What about for you? What are your life’s values?

A Gospel of Hope - Can I Save Myself?
Thursday Apr 09, 2020
Thursday Apr 09, 2020
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 NIV
Good evening, Welcome to this A Gospel of Hope. An exploration of The Hope of The Gospel through scripture, prayer, music, drama, and devotion.
This weeks editions are inspired by 4 questions as I consider life in terms of eternity.
Can I Save myself?
If I died then on my own merits, would my good works in the past, now or in the future be able to give me any kind of hope. The inescapable conclusion is No. I could not guarantee that for myself or for any one else. What is your conclusion?
Could you save your self? If you were to die tonight, would anything you have done be able to save you?

In this edition of A Gospel of Hope, we put the music and other aids aside and simply come to a place of quiet and bird song allowing God to speak through scripture and prayer.
A Gospel of Hope is an exploration of the real hope Christians have in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Power Hour - In These Days
Friday Mar 20, 2020
Friday Mar 20, 2020
A serious pandemic...panic....uncertainty....lockdown.....restrictions...unprecedented government action....workers salaries to be protected.
We may ask, Does God know or care? Why here? Why now? Why this way? Why me?
The Truth is God does care? Do we? Do we understand?
John 3:16 states "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Christ Jesus is the reason for the Faith that we have in Salvation. Its through Christ that we can come to God. John 14:6. 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Through our Faith in God, the very things which concern others including the current pandemic are brought into context and we end up having peace when others loose theirs.
We might think that God does not know or care.
Matthew 10: 29-31 "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
We might think that God is distant or weak. Psalm 29 tells us to honour God for he is able to split the mighty cedars with his voice.
So God is both present, cares and knows what is going on. All we have to do is admit our weakness and humanity and God's strength and ask Him. He is greater than the sum of all of the whole universe. He is certainly able to deal with this coronavirus.

Power Hour - 'Just Grace'
Friday Mar 06, 2020
Friday Mar 06, 2020
Power Hour is about applying God's Word in prayer. Prayer is talking to God believing that He is able to do everything He says in the Bible.
This week, we concentrate on the undeserved Grace each person has been given when Christ died on the Cross, paying the ultimate price. Yet, Christ Rose again. It's this whole subject people have so much difficulty in accepting. How can Grace exist?
People believe in their mobiles because they can hold them, surf the web, speak, post videos, yet apart from the engineers and those who made the phones, we don't really know what it took to make them. We just trust they work.
In a related way, Christians put their trust in a God we can't see and believe in a Saviour we have not met in the flesh. It's because of this Faith in what we can't see that brings us closer to God, yet because of our humanity, we struggle. All we can say is that we are sinners saved by Grace. There is nothing we can do to earn this Grace. It has been given freely by a living loving God and is available to all.
When Christians start trusting, praying and living with Christ at the centre of their lives, that's when the Grace that is available to all starts becoming more visible and real to all.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
The first step is prayer.
