Aberdeen’s Christmas Village returns to Aberdeen from 21 November to 31 December. The village will be sited on Broad Street and Upper Kirkgate and the quad of Marischal College. The village is now in its 5th year. The main organisers are Aberdeen Inspired along with Aberdeen City Council and Codonas Amusement Park
In amidst the celebrations, what is the real reason for Christmas? Brian shared a few thoughts and scriptures.
“Isn’t this fantastic that the Creator of the universe should come to live in his creation. As creator, Jesus knew everything about His creation. And he knows all about us, our actions and our thoughts.”
Bible Passages from Biblegateway.com
New King James Version
Matthew 1:20-23
20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is [a]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name [b]Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Romans 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
