Laarim, also known as Narim, Boya, or Longarim, is a language spoken by the Laarim people of South Sudan. It is a Surmic language that belongs to the Nilo-Saharan, Eastern Sudanic, Southwest Surmic language family.
Here are some facts about the Laarim language and people:
- A 2011 report estimated that 22,000 people spoke Laarim.
- The Laarim people live in the Boya Hills of South Sudan, which is a hilly and rugged terrain with high grasslands, rich savanna, and scrub bushes.
- The Laarim people live in small settlements and their social and cultural life is centered around cattle.
