Lee Chapman from Pitmedden who lost his leg after a motorbike accident is determined to give other amputees much needed encouragement. Lee who has an electric leg will be climbing up to Everest Base Camp at a height of 5, 360 meters above sea level. The 14 day trek is not only to raise awareness of what can be done but is also to raise funds for an Air Ambulance - HELEMED 79 The medics from air ambulance helped to save Lee's life.
Pupils from Forehill Nursery have been spending time interviewing residents at Jesmond Care Home and in doing so making firm friendships. The residents have been telling the children about what they did in their lives. The children are working to bring these stories to life through a range of activities forming part of Intergenerational Week.
Aberdeen Inspired want to build a parklet and pocket park at 2 locations in Aberdeen to encourage people to take time out and relax. It is hoped that these will be the first of many such installations which are numerous in Europe and the US.
Councillors at Aberdeen City Council have highlighted their approval of development of a scheme for local authority employees to become mental health first aiders.

In Friday’s Power Hour Friday 7 February at 7 pm- Applying the Scripture found in The Holy Bible in prayer. Our heritage is in Christ Jesus. Its because of Christ who makes us right with God that allows us to come boldly to God and in believing receive what we ask in prayer. In this program, we discover more through scripture and prayer the character of God- In this case, we recognise God as a banner in our lives when difficult times prevail.
The background to our main scripture, through Moses’s hands being kept raised that Joshua and his army prevailed and won against the Amelakites. After the battle was won,
Exodus 17:15 Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner.

In the same way, if we have faith and believe, God will be a banner in our own lives enabling us to win and over come the battles, difficulties which assail us. We have to believe that God is indeed Jehovah Nissi – The Lord My Banner.
During The program, we found out more of the person of God and used the following scriptures and prayed that believers would step up to the mark and be ready to give a testimony of God’s goodness in their lives.

In today's edition,
A new mental health charity - Back Onside has been set up and is set to make its mark with a charity match in Cumbernauld between former Aberdeen Players v former Celtic players. Back Onside aims to improve mental health through sport. They are supported by the Scottish Football Forums podcast.
Professor Graham Page who was on hand to treat many of the casualties from the Piper Alpha Disaster 6 July 1988. Professor Page who sadly passed away recently after a short illness has been honoured and well remembered by both family and staff at Aberdeen's Royal Infirmary Accident and Emergency Department
The Culter Tapestry which celebrates many of Peterculter's land marks has gone on show at the St Peters Heritage Centre. The tapestry has an estimated 4 million stitches and has been greatly appreciated by everyone. It is certainly a work of love.
A teenager, Amy O'Brien who has Rhett Syndrome a rare genetic neurological condition has been given a much needed boost to communicate. The machine which translates eye movements into words has been loaned to Amy and her family by the Rhett UK charity. The family are looking to raise £10,00 for such a machine. A mystery donation of £5,000 means that they are already 1/2 way there.

Every Year, Fernilea Gospel Hall pay tribute to Robert Burns by hosting a Scottish service and lunch afterwards with haggis, neaps and tatties.

In the second of our Community Elements shows we tackle the often thorny issue of finances. This is especially poignant at a time where families and especially those of foreign nationals will be weighing up financial security.
The BBC published an on line article about things which will change post Brexit and things which won't immediately change.
To start the ball rolling, we were contacted by bestspy.co.uk who wrote an article on savings. Do get in contact and let us know how you approach savings and finances. Are you able to save? Do bills scare you? There are organisations who can help both in Aberdeen and beyond.
The range of benefits and government allowances can be very confusing to the uninitiated and less tech savvy people. Tax Credits and Universal Credits are two such examples.
Many people would be confused and worried but there are people and organisations who can help.

Brian's Good News - VSA(Voluntary Services Aberdeen) has teamed up with catering company Entier to help mark VSA's 150' th Anniversary to encourage everyone across the NE to take part in a vintage afternoon tea party with recipes cooked up by Entier's chefs and bakers.
