Power Hour - Do Not Deceive Yourselves
These are program guidance notes.
First there are pertinent prayer needs - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 pray continually,
Philippians 4: 6-7Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
With that in mind Lord- we bring before you the sharp contrast of drought and the threat of severe famine in Kenya, global warming with ice sheets melting faster than expected and dams about to burst in Whaley Bridge. You are Jehovah Ezer - The Lord our helper, Jehovah Shammah - The Lord who is there present. You are Jehovah Shalom- The Lord My Peace. Only you can give peace and help at this time - homes flooded, people dying from hunger and thirst. You are Jehovah Tsidkenu- - you can change the hearts of politicians to bring right decisions to make the necessary changes. Above all we need you.
With that in mind, we bring before the crazy laws and rulings that affect so many families even here in the UK that stop people getting Justice and the help they need with their families. You are the Lord our Righteoughness. Help make render right decisions. Over turn unjust decisions.
Now the main program
Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice.
James 1:22 GNT
James 2:14-26
Faith and Actions
14 My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? 15 Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. 16 What good is there in your saying to them, “God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!”—if you don't give them the necessities of life? 17 So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead.
18 But someone will say, “One person has faith, another has actions.” My answer is, “Show me how anyone can have faith without actions. I will show you my faith by my actions.” 19 Do you believe that there is only one God? Good! The demons also believe—and tremble with fear. 20 You fool! Do you want to be shown that faith without actions is useless?[a] 21 How was our ancestor Abraham put right with God? It was through his actions, when he offered his son Isaac on the altar. 22 Can't you see? His faith and his actions worked together; his faith was made perfect through his actions. 23 And the scripture came true that said, “Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous.” And so Abraham was called God's friend. 24 You see, then, that it is by our actions that we are put right with God, and not by our faith alone.
25 It was the same with the prostitute Rahab. She was put right with God through her actions, by welcoming the Israelite spies and helping them to escape by a different road.
26 So then, as the body without the spirit is dead, also faith without actions is dead.
John 4:35 Good News Translation (GNT)
35 You have a saying, ‘Four more months and then the harvest.’ But I tell you, take a good look at the fields; the crops are now ripe and ready to be harvested!
During the programmes, Rob relies on God to furnish scriptures, format and words. God did that again today as before.
In the light of the need to put faith into action, Rob broadcast all the languages which John 3:16 has been spoken and broadcast over recent months on Gospel4Grampian. The podcasts of the show and languages are listed below. We invite you to listen and do your bit to share.

Saturday Jul 27, 2019
The work of AberNecessities was highlighted during Brian's Good News of 26 July 2019 because of a news article in The Evening Express to do with AberNecessities seeking to provide PE kit / School Uniforms for under privileged families.
Our aim is to support local, underprivileged families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire with the essential items they need to care for their babies and children.
AberNecessities accepts donations of nappies, wipes and children’s toiletries. We are also delighted to accept nearly new clothes (up to age 12), toys and equipment. Our only plea is that it is in a condition you would be happy for your own children to wear or use.

Saturday Jul 27, 2019
Saturday Jul 27, 2019
Aberdeen Street Pastors work during the night-time economy in the city centre. We seek to listen, care and help those in need or have found themselves in difficulties. In addition we run a small team of School and Retail Pastors.
We are interdenominational organisation and draw our volunteers from 35 churches across the city and beyond. Our aims are to bring peace and a Christian presence amongst night life community by building relationships, serving where we can. Where appropriate we take those opportunities to share our faith and pray with people.
Our values include working in partnership and therefore we work with the police, city council, churches and the business community. Ultimately, we strive to bring a positive impression of the local church and relevance to the Christian Gospel.

What to look for - Head injuries
Advice taken from St John Ambulance First Aid Tips for Head Injuries
If you think someone has a head injury, there are six key things you should look for:
1. Brief loss of responsiveness
2. Scalp wound
3. Dizziness or nausea
4. Loss of memory of events before or during the injury
5. Headache
6. Confusion
For a severe head injury, you also need to look for:
reduced level of response• loss of responsiveness• leakage of blood or watery fluid from the ear or nose• unequal pupil size
What you need to do - Head injuries
1. Sit them down and give them something cold to hold against the injury. You can use a cold compress, or a bag of ice or frozen peas wrapped in a cloth.
2. Treat any scalp wounds like a bleed, by applying direct pressure to the wound.
3. Check their level of responsiveness, using the AVPU scale below. Make a note of their reactions, especially any changes to their level of response, to pass on to the ambulance, in case you have to call one.
The AVPU scale – alert, voice, pain, unresponsive
A – Alert: Are they alert? Are their eyes open and do they respond to questions?
V – Voice: Do they respond to voice? Can they answer simple questions and respond to instructions?
P – Pain: If they’re not alert or they’re not responding to your voice - do they respond to pain? Try pinching them - do they move or open their eyes?
U – Unresponsive: Do they respond to questions or a gentle shake?
If they are alert or responsive then they’re responsive and their head injury is probably mild, but you should wait with them until they recover.
If they’re not alert or responsive then they may be partially or fully unresponsive and their head injury could be severe. Call 999/112 for an ambulance and explain their response to the AVPU test.
If they lose responsiveness at any point, open their airway, check their breathing and prepare to treat someone who’s become unresponsive.
While you’re waiting for an ambulance, keep checking their breathing, pulse and any changes in their level of response.

'Therefore Go'
Our vision is to get the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ Son of God to people of every language group across the world and in such away that All can hear, see and experience Christ's Love for themselves.
This map gives an idea of our current reach. Bit by bit, we are attaining this vision.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
