Topic: Navigating Young Adult Life as a Christian!
1 Peter 2.9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Ecclesiastes 11:9-10“Young people, enjoy your youth. Be happy while you are still young. Do what you want to do, and follow your hearts desire. But remember that God is going to judge you for whatever you do.
Proverbs 14.12 There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. Proverbs 16.25 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
Ecclesiastes 1 - Everything Has Its Time
1To everything there is a season,A time for every purpose under heaven:
2A time to be born, And a time to die;
And so, “We must remember there are different seasons in our lives and let God do what He wants to do in each of those seasons.” as quoted by Ashley Evans
Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Genesis 39. 1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. 2The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did [a]to prosper in his hand. 4So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put [b]under his authority. 5So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. 6Thus he left all that he had in Joseph’s [c]hand, and he did not know what he had except for the [d]bread which he ate.
Esther 4.14 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
15Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 16“Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
As you embrace your Young Adult life these are the exposures you will be faced with:
Developmental Tasks of Early Adulthood (https://open.maricopa.edu/devpsych/chapter/chapter-9-early- adulthood/) Ages 20-late 30’s - Havighurst (1972) describes some of the developmental tasks of young adults.
“It’s a time where you focus on:
Achieving autonomy: trying to establish oneself as an independent person with a life of one’s own
Establishing identity: more firmly establishing likes, dislikes, preferences, and philosophies
Developing emotional stability: becoming more stable emotionally which is considered a sign of
maturing
Establishing a career: deciding on and pursuing a career or at least an initial career direction and
pursuing an education
Finding intimacy: forming first close, long-term relationships
Becoming part of a group or community: young adults may, for the first time, become involved with
various groups in the community. They may begin voting or volunteering to be part of civic organizations (scouts, church groups, etc.). This is especially true for those who participate in organizations as parents.
Establishing a residence and learning how to manage a household: learning how to budget and keep a home maintained.
Becoming a parent and rearing children: learning how to manage a household with children.
Making marital or relationship adjustments and learning to parent.”
1 Cor 6.19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
2 Tim 2.22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
Prov 23.26 My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways
Psalm 119.9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
Prov 1.10 My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.
Matt 5.28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already
committed adultery with her in his heart.
Roman 13.13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual
immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy
Prov 5.20-21Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman and embrace the
bosom of an adulteress? For a man's ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his paths.
Joseph fleeing sexual sins - Gen 39. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.7And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife [e]cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.” 8But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. 9There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
10So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her. 11But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.
Cognitive Development in Early Adulthood - (https://open.maricopa.edu/devpsych/chapter/chapter- 9-early-adulthood/) Ages 20-late 30’s
Havighurst (1972) describes some of the developmental tasks of young adults.
“As young adults gain more experience, they think increasingly more in the abstract and are able to understand different perspectives and complexities. As a person approaches the late 30s, chances are they make decisions out of necessity or because of prior experience and are less influenced by what others think. Of course, this is particularly true in individualistic cultures such as the United States. Periods of transition last about five years and periods of stability last about seven years. The ages presented below are based on life in the middle-class several decades ago. Think about how these ages and transitions might be different today, or in other cultures, or for women compared to men.
Early adult transition (17-22): Leaving home, leaving family; making first choices about career and educationEntering the adult world (22-28): Committing to an occupation, defining goals, finding intimate relationships
Age 30 transition (28-33): Reevaluating those choices and perhaps making modifications or changing one’s attitude toward love and workSettling down (33 to 40): Reinvesting in work and family commitments; becoming involved in the community
“Adulthood is a period of building and rebuilding one’s life. Many decisions in early adulthood are made before a person has had enough experience to really understand the consequences of such decisions. And, perhaps, many of these initial decisions are made with one goal in mind – to be seen as an adult. As a result, early decisions may be driven more by the expectations of others. For example, imagine someone who chose a career path based on other’s advice but now finds that the job is not what was expected.”
1 Cor 13.13 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.Mat 26.41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Jesus at the age of 33 is telling His disciples this)
Be brave, if God say’s you can do it, then you can do it!
Jer 1.4-9 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 5“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified[a] you;I [b]ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
6Then said I: “Ah, Lord God!Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”7But the Lord said to me:“Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’For you shall go to all to whom I send you,And whatever I command you, you shall speak.8Do not be afraid of their faces,For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.9Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
God anoints you, don’t allow your age to hinder God working in your life
1 Samuel 17. 31-45 Now when the words which David spoke were heard, they reported them to Saul; and he sent for him. 32Then David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”
33And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”
34But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has
defied the armies of the living God.” 37Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”
And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
38So Saul clothed David with his [c]armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 39David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off.
40Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. 41So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield went before him. 42And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained[d] him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 43So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!”
Phil 4.13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Josh 1.9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not
be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
With promotion comes responsibility:
David was appointed Captain of Israel’s army - Call to lead
1 Samuel 18. 12 Now Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him, but had departed from Saul. 13Therefore Saul removed him from [e]his presence, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people. 14And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the Lord was with him. 15Therefore, when Saul saw that he behaved very wisely, he was afraid of him. 30Then the princes of the Philistines went out to war. And so it was, whenever they went out, that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed.
1 Tim 4.12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Prov 3.5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
David trusted God from His Youth...It’s in His Youth that God developed Him for great exploits Psalm 71.5 For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth.

WOAC On Air – 02 May 2024 Episode 94
Inspiration brought to you by WOAC on Air ___________________________________________________________________________ Topic: Thank You God for your Grace!
Gal 1.3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Paul starts his writings and ends His writings with God’s grace be upon each of the readers - Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews Titus 1.4 “To Titus, mine own son after the common faith “Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ our savior.”
We notice in all Paul’s writings whether he is talking to the church congregation or the leaders of the church or his support team he prays that God’s grace be upon as much as peace be upon them and he ends each writing with Grace be with you all Amen!
This tells me that Grace is an essential virtue that Christians need in order to be successful now and forever more. How would you define the Grace of God Erika, Shinaaz
Definition of Grace Miriam Webster dictionary
A - : unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification B - : a virtue coming from GodC - : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine assistance
Grace in Greek means “charis”: grace, kindnessOriginal Word: χάρις, ιτος, ἡTransliteration: charis - Phonetic Spelling: (khar'-ece)Usage: (a) grace, as a gift or blessing brought to man by Jesus Christ, (b) favor, (c) gratitude, thanks, (d) a favor, kindness.
5485 /xáris ("grace") answers directly to the Hebrew (OT) term 2580 /Kaná ("grace, extension-toward"). Both refer to God freely extending Himself (His favor, grace), reaching (inclining) to people because He is disposed to bless (be near) them.
What are the 3 levels of God’s grace?
A) Salvation - “Prevenient” - Jesus kindness went ahead and saved us while we were yet sinners he died for all humanity. He then presented the Gospel to restore sinners to righteousness.B) “Justification” - Jesus favour rests upon us - whereby he paid the penalty on our behalf therefore we have been justified just as if we have never sinned. We have been released from the penalty of sin. (Rev 12.10 for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. )
C) “Sanctification” - Holy Spirit extending the life of Jesus to us through anointing and God’s word which is light and life therefore thereby we are released from the power of sin.
Now that we are saved, what does God grace mean to the born again believer?A) We need God’s grace so that we can do good works Jesus prepared or us to do
1 Cor 1.4I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7so that you come short in no gift”
Ephesians 2.8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
B) God’s grace enables us to live as overcomers whilst fulfilling God’s call upon our lives
2 Thess 1.4 Paul is commending the Thessolonian church for their patience and perserving during challenging times “so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure, 5which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer.
v 11 Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would “count you worthy” of this calling, and fulfill all the “good pleasure of His goodness” and the “work of faith with power,” 12that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
C) God’s grace protects us from becoming prideful - therefore humility is a quality where His Grace is actively at work
Romans 5.1-2Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
2 Cor 12. 7Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
James 4.6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
D) God’s grace clothes us with His nature
Colossians 3.12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Gal 5.16-23I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 19Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
E) God’s power strenghtens us in time of weakness
Ephesians 4.15For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
James 4.10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
2 Tim 2.1 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
We don’t earn or deserve God’s grace it, it is a free gift available to the born again christian in order to live victoriously.

Gospel4You is a Gospel program made available through Nexus International Broadcasting Association - Monday evenings on Shortwave and Medium Wave reaching even over 200 million listeners.
Our theme scripture is 1 Corinthians 1:24-31 -
24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[a]

Gospel4You - James 1:5-8 ‘Believe And Not doubt’
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Topic: What are the things Youth cannot live without?
1 Col 16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Eph 2.10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. 18. 18For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
John 3.14 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life
John 3.16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
John 3.36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Author Rick Warren who wrote the book The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here for? “While it is wise to learn from experience, it is wiser to learn from the experiences of others.”
“Without God, life has no purpose, and without purpose, life has no meaning. Without meaning, life has no significance or hope.”
Here Jesus is talking to Martha, Lazarus who died His sister, and Jesus is telling her a mystery - John 11. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
27She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
Psalm 14 1-3
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”They are corrupt,They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
2The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3They have all turned aside,They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good, No, not one.
“You must begin with God.” (RW)
John 15.“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [a]takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Author Rick Warren who wrote the book The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here for?
“The way you see your life shapes your life.”
“You discover your identity and purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ.”“You cannot arrive at your life’s purpose by starting with a focus on yourself. You must begin with God, your Creator. You exist only because God wills that you exist. You were made by God and for God – and until you understand that, life will never make sense. It is only in God that we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny. Every other path leads to a dead end.”“Your wisest moments will be those when you say yes to God.”
“You were made by God and for God and until you understand that, life will never make sense.”
Acts 17. 24God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26And He has made from one [j]blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ 29Therefore since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. 30Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Rick Warren:“Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it.”
“Life is a gift...Life is a test...Life is temporary assignment....”
, ,
James 4.1-4For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
Rick Warren:“Instant obedience will teach you more about God than a lifetime of Bible discussions. ”“We are healed to help others. We are blessed to be a blessing. We are saved to serve, not to sit around and wait for heaven.”“Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life.”
“You didn't create yourself, so there is no way you can tell yourself what you were created for.”

Our vision is to get the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ Son of God to people of every language group across the world and in such away that All can hear, see and experience Christ's Love for themselves.
This map gives an idea of our current reach. Bit by bit, we are attaining this vision.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
