Power Hour Return
Friday May 13, 2016
Friday May 13, 2016
The Power Hour is about speaking to God in Faith in prayer using God's Word to remind God of his promises. God wants us to come to him in faith to pray about all sorts of issues. Jesus Christ made this possible for us when he gave his life on the Cross for us to make us right with God. Because of Jesus Christ we can have a rich relationship with God.
In this program, one issue came up in the news which was thought worth sharing - Drug takers having taken legal highs ending up in hospital with a cardiac arrest. - BBC News (this will be available until BBC remove it.) We played the sound track then prayed God's Word in the expectation of a answer
The point is raised in the Power Hour program, that prayer is a valuable approach to problem solving when used in conjunction with actively seeking help. Other Community Elements podcasts cover issues more practically by giving information so that people can help themselves. Power Hour deals specifically with praying in the context of God's Word.
Answers to prayer may not come immediately but over a period of time.
In all things, iits good to give God thanks for answered prayer. Praise as part of prayer is extremely important and brings a real smile to God's face when we appreciate what He has done.

The Power of Small Things
Monday May 09, 2016
Monday May 09, 2016
God takes a delight in doing a lot with a little. He takes a delight when we use our money resources and time to bless others even when we might think it does not amount to much.
Rev Erastus Sorobi talks more about this. His scripture is from John 6
6 Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), 2 and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing the sick. 3 Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples. 4 The Jewish Passover Festival was near.
5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
7 Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages[a] to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”
8 Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, 9 “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?”
10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). 11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.
12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” 13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. 14 After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

A Message From Kenya - The Name of Jesus
Wednesday Apr 27, 2016
Wednesday Apr 27, 2016
Today Rev Erastus from Hope Family Church, Nairobi, Kenya brings a message of hope from Philipians 2: 1-11 with emphasis on verses 7-11 ans also noting verse 2.
2 Therefore
if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any
comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

'Therefore Go'
Our vision is to get the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ Son of God to people of every language group across the world and in such away that All can hear, see and experience Christ's Love for themselves.
This map gives an idea of our current reach. Bit by bit, we are attaining this vision.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
