Interview with Emma Weaver - Development Co-ordinator for Try Praying

This is one of those interviews I wanted to make available today.  Earlier  I spoke to Emma Weaver - Development Co-ordinator for Try Praying whose banners you may have seen on the sides of buses, posters by churches or you may have one of their leaflets now in 12 languages that go out to 12 countries and to service men and women around the world.

1 Cor 15.45 The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit. 46What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. 47 Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. 48Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. 49 Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man.
50 What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.
51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!
52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. John 15.The Vine and the Branches
1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

'GOSPEL CAFE'

Gospel Cafe is one of the flagship programmes for Gospel4Grampian. Its a vehicle for taking the Gospel - God's Rescue Plan Jesus Christ out to communities.  The Church is a family of people from different denominations who love God with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour'. We have been cleansed and are alive in Christ to take this love to the people around us. 
 
The heart of Gospel4Grampian is to even at a local level because Aberdeen is a multinational city and at an international level because the radio station goes to anywhere that has an internet connection - to take this Good News we profess to language groups around the world and by Grace on terrestrial radio 2 hours a week. We broadcast this Good News contained in John 3:16 to now 128 language groups.  On the way, we want to encourage believers in different parts of the world to partner with us, to be encouraged to take Christ's Love to people around them. Imagine how you might react if you not only were able to hear the Gospel in your own language but see and experience this love for your self in a way free from anything you would experience in the world, in the languages of love and unity.
 
This edition draws on recordings, interviews made throughout our nearly 20 years of broadcasting.  We hope that you will be encouraged and heartened by what you hear and will share with others. We want to build a vibrant radio network where God is honoured, Christ is lifted high, The Gospel is made known in  Love, Unity, thought, word and deed where people are informed, engaged, loved, encouraged and made whole.  This is a vision only God can fulfil. Be in this Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

"shelter" ("a safe place") to escape reality. Fortified structures built on human wisdom.Strongholds represent fortified systems of thought opposed to God. Though referenced only once in the Greek New Testament, the term captures a perennial biblical theme: God empowers His people to penetrate and dismantle every barrier to the lordship of Jesus Christ through the Spirit-enabled use of the Word, prayer, and obedient faith.

Exodus 34.29When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. 30When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. The Glory of God commands reverence for the presence of God.
Why are we talking about this?
2 Tim 3But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
