Gospel Evening at Blacketyside Farm 27 August 2022

This evening, Helen and Rob visited Blacketyside Farm in Leven in Fife where every month a Gospel Night is held.  This is a time of encouragement, challenge and fellowship. In accordance with a prompting by God, we are making the whole evening available as a podcast.
The audio was recorded on a stand alone microphone recorder which was set at a certain volume level at the start of the evening.  Levels may not be the best.  They are what they are.  As with God's Word, we invite you to hear this in context.
Rev George Barclay was the speaker with musical contributions from Walter, Robert and guest player David Martin.  The Gospel Evening was hosted by Robert Todd.  We thank you for the invitation.
 

Diane Philips - Missionary at Riverside Church, Banff

For this testimony, Diane Philips was supported by her Pastor Rob McArthur of Riverside Church Banff.
Diane's testimony is very listenable and passionate and finishing with a song, she wrote and sung herself. Her life is marked by resilience and God's Grace in the face of maltreatment and abuse by others. It is a reminder that God regards each person as individual and loved by Him.

Gospel Cafe was first broadcast in 2006. The program has evolved to 'create an oasis in your day' through scripture, honest discussion, music and a few gems thrown in for good measure. We address pertinent aspects such as: Value of time - Your time on earth has eternal significance (we all have been given a lifespan on earth that impacts our eternal value, how we use our time is essential). Psalm 90.12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Purpose – “I am sure the happiest days of my life have been when I have tried to do the will of God as far as I know it to do…”– D.L. Moody (Ephesians 2.10) “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Our purpose is to do the good works God created us to do. Are you operating in the good works?
Complacency – Is a thief of success. Complacency is a disability that robs us from moving ahead in God’s plans. The story of the cripple man at the pool of Bethesda comes to mind…he waited for that 1 moment once a year to get into the pool and others beat him to it, therefore he remained disabled. Until the day he met Jesus, and his disability was removed and he began to move out of complacency into momentum. (John 5.6-11) 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

Moody Allow God to lead you. Don’t self-lead – it leads to destruction. (Proverbs 1.12) “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.”

In this program which seeks to make the good news of Salvation available to every language group  across the world.  This  is made possible through Christ Jesus, Son of God.
When you look around the world and see all that is happening in quick succession, you become aware of time passing rapidly.  Because of this amd what God has impressed Rob with,  we get the title - 'Time is Short' 
Our core Scripture is 
1 Corinthians 7:28-30
29 What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; 30 those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep;

Woman were created Good
God Creates Mankind
Genesis 1.27 – God Creates mankind - So God created mankind in his own image,in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God is good – when He created us in his image – it means we are designed with good as our nature too, because we came out from Good.
God Creates Woman
Genesis 2.18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable(Suitable)  to him.”
“HELPER” Hebrew is  “Ezer”– root “azar” menas - ally (1), furthered (1), granted (1), help  helper (6),  protect (1), restrains (1), supporting (1). A primitive root; to surround, i.e. Protect or aid
Woman is good(image of God) and her purpose is to bring good and not harm to her husband
 
Women’s Role
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food (HomeMaker)
and pleasing to the eye(Desirable), and also desirable for gaining wisdom(SmartThinking), 
she took some and ate it.(Leadership)
She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (Influential) Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. 
 
Did you know? Before Eve was created God gave Adam the instructions to note partake of the tree of Good and Evil. Genesis 2.15 “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
 
Women of Africa Care Goodness Circle – learning to embrace our Goodness nature
Women what not to adopt – learn from Job’s wife what not to do? – Job’s wife advised her husband to “curse God and die”
But he said to her you speak as one of the foolish woman speaks ignorant and   oblivious to God's will. Shall we indeed accept adversity and disaster? In all of this job did not sin with his lips. Job 122 job did not sin or charge God with wrongdoing. Job 29.13 Job's nameless wife turns up after the final blow after Job has been struck with the Boils. Seeing her husband sitting in the dust scraping his sores silently, she burst out "do you still persist in your integrity? curse God and die."  Job answered you sound like one of those fools on the street corner. So even after all that happened to Job, he did not sin, nor accused God of doing anything wrong.Job's 3 Friends heard about all the bad things that happened to him, they met together and went to comfort Job, showing their sympathy.2 Tim 4.18 "The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom.
