In today's show,
Brian brings a good news story from The Banffshire Herald about an ultra athlete's 100 mile fund raising effort for The League of Friends at Turner Memorial Hospital in Keith.  It was here that her much loved grandpa Jock was cared for before he died.  The level of care was exemplary.  You can help in this fund raising effort here.
Brian's scripture pick this week is Galatians 3:13: But by becoming a curse for us Christ has redeemed us from the curse that the Law brings; for the scripture says, “Anyone who is hanged on a tree is under God's curse.

In Brian's Good news this week,
We hear about Keith Millar a 1st Methlick Scout Group Volunteer who was awarded The Silver Cross for his calm actions in rescuing a group in distress on Ben Nevis and preventing others from getting in to difficulties. His actions ensured that the rescue team were able to reach the site by helicopter saving 3 hours.
A former RAF dog handler has been to RAF Odiham to thank his rescuers. Mr Mick McConnell lost his foot while patrolling in Afghanistan when he stepped on an improvised explosive device. Mr McConnell has also been helped by the Royal Airforce Benevolent Fund which helps pay for practical, financial and emotional support.
A guide dog has been named 'Kris' in memory of Chris Gordon who along with her family did much to fund raise for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Mrs Gordon had become blind and had benefited from a series of guide dogs who had given her independence.  She was so grateful, she wanted to fundraise to say thank you.
A team of 4 from Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust raised £53,000 for Brighter Futures through a massive hill walk taking in 7 Munros. This is over half the amount needed to run the Trust over the next 5 years.  The walk was inspired in memory of Community Trust Chairman Duncan Skinner who set up the Legacy Fund.  The fund supports several initiatives including The Young Ambassador Programme  to help 14-18 year olds achieve skills and qualifications which would not have been available to them.

We visited both Guide Dogs and Brighter Futures websites as part of this program as well as St John Ambulance which provides First Aid Advice.
