Power Hour - The Keys Of Revival

Power Hour is about applying God's Word contained in the Bible into prayer.  
In these times with new Covid tiered restrictions and other things going on, people look at the world and they see a mess and in great need of a miracle. The miracle of which we write is Revival and only possible to God to bring about.
In the days of the Hebrides Revival and Awakening, ministers could sometimes only stand aside and watch as God moved.  To get there, prayer.  Are believers willing to pray consistently? Are believers willing to trust God? Are believers willing to put self aside and confess sins?

In Brian's Good News today
An Aberdeen Care Home - The Cowdray Club has been praise by The Care Inspectorate for its Covid 19 Response.  The unannounced visit took place  in September.  The inspectors spoke to residents. The report concluded that "residents were well cared for and treated with dignity and respect."
Final preparations are being made for the launch of  the worlds first 15 hydrogen powered double decker buses on Aberdeen's streets in the coming month.  The buses will be run and maintained  by First Bus Aberdeen from their depot on King Street which has been fitted with sensitive gas alarms. All staff have received gas training.  The main advantages are that the buses cut down on pollution and make for a much quieter and smoother ride for the passengers.
A Hoopoe, a distinctive bird found mainly in mainland Europe with migration to South Africa has been found and massively photographed at Pittodrie Stadium car park.  The bird is thought to have been blown off course by Storm Alex. A spokesperson for RSPB indicated that the bird would likely stay around for a few days to feed to build up fat reserves before flying south.
Charlie House has appealed for 40 volunteers to come forward to be Elves at Santas Christmas Groto in the Bon Accord Centre. The elves will be trained, given an outfit and will then help out to bring festive cheer to families as well as selling Charlie House merchandise.  To get involved email volunteer@charliehouse.org.uk or call 01224 313333.

Power Hour - Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Power Hour is about applying God's Word in Prayer.  Today our theme is Turn your Eyes upon Jesus.  What and who do we put our Trust in?  The presenter and millions of believers have found that involving Christ in all areas of life and not looking around and being afraid by the things of this world is effective.  Suddenly the problems do fade.  There is nothing in this world God does not know about.  Especially when we might then ask why things happen and God seems to allow evil and bad things to happen.  We can only point to God's goodness and to Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
Isaiah 26:4. Trust in the Lord always,
    for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.

We begin with Brian's Good News.
Her Majesty The Queen has commended and highlighted the work of the media supporting and informing communities across the UK.  This prompted many national and local newspapers further highlight the value of newspapers and call for people to subscribe to publications to preserve journalism.
A Moray firm launched this year in Craigellachie.  Just Sanitise is to make hand sanitiser in unlimited qualities to three local charities;  Charlie House, Clan Cancer Support and AberNecessities
Aberdeen Harbour has taken delivery of 2 Electric vehicles which will help to cut emissions and save 3,400 litres of fuel annually.   This ties in with Aberdeen City Council's aim to be net zero.  The cars ensure that Aberdeen Harbour continues to be the only port in SCotland to combine European Ecoport status with ISO 14001 accreditation which is an international standard certifying organisations continually looking to improve their environmental management systems to minimise the impact on the environment.
Rebecca Hutcheon has run a virtual London Marathon in memory of her brother Alex who died as a result of a tumour has raised nearly £10,000. The money will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust who looked after her brother.

Teenage Cancer Trust's world-leading care and support puts young people in the best possible place, physically, mentally and emotionally, for their cancer treatment and beyond.
We do this by funding 28 specialist units in NHS hospitals, where young people can come together for treatment in an environment that feels more like a home than a hospital ward. 
Our expert Teenage Cancer Trust nurses make sure that young people receive the highest quality of care possible, as well as emotional and practical support to cope with the huge challenges that cancer presents.
And our teams of youth support coordinators are somebody to talk to, and bring young people together for events and activities, helping them to meet and connect with others who have had similar experiences.
2020 has been a tough year for Teenage Cancer Trust. Many of our fundraising events, like our Royal Albert Hall shows, have been cancelled or postponed due to coronavirus hit, and we are set to lose £6 million in funding this year.  But whatever the crisis we won’t stop, and can’t stop, being there for young people with cancer.
Our work in Aberdeen:
In addition to the 28 hospital units we fund (including in Edinburgh and Glasgow), Teenage Cancer Trust fund outreach nurses to support young people who live too far away to access these
In 2018, the charity created two new nursing posts in Aberdeen, so that young people diagnosed with cancer in the region can access specialist support closer to home
The nurses are based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and offer support to young people across the Grampian region.
