Even in this time of lock down, Britain will still be pausing to recognise the end of hostilities and the sacrifice made by so many a VE DAY 75th Anniversary is marked.
In this edition, we have Brian’s Good News.
Then a quick resume of what VE Day is all about how Britain is marking the day.
Today 8th May 2020 it is 75 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the war in Europe. Years of carnage and destruction had come to an end and millions of people took to the streets and pubs to celebrate peace, mourn their loved – ones and to hope for the future, but not forgetting those still in conflict until 15th August when it was announced that Japan had surrendered unconditionally to the Allies, effectively ending World War II.
Coming up today….
At 15:00 the BBC will broadcast extracts from Sir Winston Churchill’s victory speech to recreate the moment peace in Europe was announced 75 years ago, followed by a speech from Prime Minister Boris JohnsonAt the same time people will be invited to raise a glass for a toastAt 20:00, Welsh classical singer Katherine Jenkins will feature in a special BBC TV programme on BBC OneAt 21:00 the Queen will address the nation, in a pre-recorded message broadcast by the BBC, at the exact moment her father King George VI gave a radio address 75 years agoShortly after you can go to your doorstep or window to join in a mass sing-a-long of We’ll Meet AgainAt 21:00, just after the Queen’s address to the nation, we are being encouraged to go to our doors, windows, driveways, and gardens for a socially-distanced mass sing-a-long.
But just in case you do not know the words, here are the lyrics to the Vera Lynn classic.
We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when,
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through, just like you, always do
‘Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.
So will you please say hello, to the folks that I know, tell them I won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know, that as you saw me go, I was singing this song
We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.

A Gospel Of Hope - Come As You Are
In this series of programmes- We adopt the theme - Come As You Are.
Romans 10:1-15
1Dear brothers and sisters,a the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. 2I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. 3For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. 4For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given.b As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
Salvation Is for Everyone
5For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands.c 6But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). 7And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).” 8In fact, it says,
“The message is very close at hand;
it is on your lips and in your heart.”d
And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: 9If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”e 12Jew and Gentilef are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”g
14But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”h
16But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “LORD, who has believed our message?”i 17So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. 18But I ask, have the people of Israel actually heard the message? Yes, they have:
“The message has gone throughout the earth,
and the words to all the world.”j

'Therefore Go'
Our vision is to get the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ Son of God to people of every language group across the world and in such away that All can hear, see and experience Christ's Love for themselves.
This map gives an idea of our current reach. Bit by bit, we are attaining this vision.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
